Hope Unexpected just celebrated 10 years of service to young, single mothers in the West Michigan community. Their mission is to nurture, empower and equip young single mothers by demonstrating the love of Christ. They achieve this by showing mercy, love and grace through hospitality and support by offering multiple services to their clients. Their goal is to bridge the gap and offer support to make success and self-sufficiency possible.

Their Programs include:

Free Counseling | The moms and their children have access to free PROFESSIONAL/LICENSED counseling through one of their three counseling partners.

Monday Meets | The moms get to know other young women who are also parenting on their own and enjoy a free meal amongst the supportive community of moms. Children are welcomed and childcare is provided by licensed teachers. Monday Meets include faith-based conversation on real-life topics, educational classes, diaper and wipe distribution, a gas card to cover the moms’ travel expenses and additional resources.

Mentors | One-on-one support as the moms plan and work towards their goals

Car Care Program | Moms can earn points for attending Monday Meets to help pay for car repairs

Prayer | The moms and their children are prayed for both in person and throughout the week. With God, all things are possible!

With the funds raised this month, The Dollar Difference purchased 55 gas cards, 10 packages of diapers, and 10 packages of wipes that will be distributed to the moms participating in the “Monday Meets” at Hope Unexpected! In light of the rising prices of gas and baby supplies, we were excited to support the moms of Hope Unexpected in such a tangible way this month.
