Wake The World : June 2023
Wake the World (WTW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. They are a group of boat owners providing watersports opportunities to foster, abandoned, abused and neglected children, as well as for the handicapped and wounded warriors.
WTW began in 2008 with 8 families providing a day on the lake for some residents of a local children's home. Today, WTW is the largest all-volunteer organization of its kind, with over 500 volunteered boats world-wide and over 50 events in the USA.
All WTW events are sanctioned and insured through the WWA (World Wakeboard Association).
The Michigan-West event is held annually in July on Gull Lake in Richland over 2 days. The first day is to serve foster and shelter children through Bethany Christian Services & the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission Women’s shelter. The second day is the adaptive event serving handicapable participants who wish to learn & enjoy watersports as well.
All events are 100% volunteer and sponsor driven and they always can use more of both!
The funds raised this month through The Dollar Difference were used to help sponsor the West Michigan July event.
