Love for a Child is a faith-focused non-profit serving children of foster care who have been severely traumatized by various forms of abuse, abandonment and neglect. Most children within their program are destined to live in 10 homes before the age of 10, or clinical reports stating they have been a victim of 5 or more abuse partners before the age of 10. With nearly 15,000 foster kids in Michigan, they search for the most statistically overlooked children (likely to never be adopted) to provide opportunity and an experience that would change their hearts for the better, forever.

Their programing consists of three overnight week-long summer camps, a mentorship program, and tailored resources. The camp week is created for each kid to be served with royalty, intentional focus, creating positive lifelong memories that allow them to be celebrated through their best and most challenging moments. They believe that “kids should be kids,” and their week long camp can allow hurts to be healed by hope, loss to be replaced by love, so each child understands, wherever their journey may end up, God's love travels with them and never fails.

Each child is offered to be in a year-long mentorship following their camp experience allowing a trained mentor to visit them inside of their foster home. Love For a Child is one of two programs in the State with the approval to send Christian leaders into foster homes, to take a child on a field trip monthly and guide by example. Each family is reviewed to ensure each child’s Birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, 5th Grade Graduation and pinnacle moments are never missed, but attended with a support team they provide. Love For a Child is 100% free of cost to the foster families they serve.
