Sparrow & Nest Designs : February 2023
Sparrow & Nest Designs is a non-profit organization in Kalamazoo, MI. Their mission is to bring dignity and hope to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness in our community. They use donated furniture and household goods to create a warm, welcoming and functional new home.
Individuals and families are referred to them through local organizations. They have primarily worked with the YWCA of Kalamazoo through their domestic abuse shelter, human trafficking shelter, and WISH program.
This month we used our funds to purchase items that were of greatest need for Sparrow & Nest. We were able to truly stretch our dollars due to the local Bed, Bath & Beyond going out of business. We purchased 16 cookie baking sheets, 8 sets of shower curtain hooks, 16 bed pillows, 8 bags full of bath towels/wash clothes/hand towels, and 21 mattress pad covers.
