Fostering Laker Success is a GVSU campus-based program that works with youth who have experienced foster care and other out of home placements.

Their mission is to help the students in their program succeed in every aspect of life! Program participants have access to key resources that help them succeed in their personal, academic, and professional lives. Participants also gain a community of supportive staff and mentors to assist them in reaching your goals.

Fostering Laker Success focuses on 7 core areas:

1. Basic Needs

2. Finances and Employment

3. Physical and Mental Health

4. Cultural and Personal Identity

5. GV Community Experiences and Supportive Relationships

6. Life Skills and Destination Planning

7. Education

Each December the Fostering Laker Success Program gifts each of their students a Christmas basket that contains a gift card to Target, personal care items, a game, hat, mittens, and food for the holiday break as many of their participants do not return home for break. This December, we are honored to partner with this program by helping to provide items for the Christmas baskets.
