CarePortal : April 2025
For the month of April we will be supporting CarePortal with our Dollar Difference funds!
CarePortal is a care-sharing technology that drives action for kids and families in crisis. CarePortal was founded in 2015 in Kansas City, MO and has since expanded into 38 different states. CarePortal launched in West Michigan in the Fall of 2022. Since then, they have met 1,715 requests, served 7,921 children, and had an economic impact of $1,298,226.
Here's how the process works. 1.) A child serving professional from an approved CarePortal requesting agency, uncovers a need for a family that they are working with. 2.) The child serving professional enters that need into the CarePortal platform. 3.) The need is sent out via email to all the proximate churches, individuals, business and community groups that are enrolled in CarePortal and one of them agrees to financially meet the need listed. 4. ) The local church then makes an in-person connection with the family to fulfill the need and starts to build ongoing relationship through that meaningful connection.
This month, The Dollar Difference will be using our funds to support some foster and adoptive needs that come through CarePortal. We can’t wait to share with you how we have stepped into meeting a variety of needs for the local foster/adoptive/kinship community!
